Dr. Scott Black and Dr. Jonathan Becker

 
Physician Information: Dr. Scott Black
Dr. Scott Black is a family practitioner specializing in sports medicine, with interests and expertise in endurance sports and overuse injury.  He received his medical degree from the University of Kentucky as well as completing a family practice residency there in 1989.  In 2003, Dr. Black completed a sports medicine fellowship at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. 

Dr. Black joined the University of Louisville Department of Family and Geriatric Medicine and Sports Medicine Fellowship located at Central Station in 2005.  Dr. Black's sports medicine experience includes serving as team physician for Knox Central High School, Cumberland College, Eastern Kentucky University, and now, the University of Louisville and Frazier Rehab Institute Sports Medicine Program.

Physician Information: Dr. Jonathan Becker
Dr. Jonathan Becker received his medical degree from Chicago Medical School as well as completing his residency in family practice and his Primary Care Sports Medicine fellowship at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. 

Prior to joining the faculty at University of Louisville, Dr. Becker spent four years in private practice.  First, in an outpatient primary care setting then joining an orthopedic group where he practiced sports medicine full time.

Dr. Becker's sports medicine experience includes providing care for athletes at the University of Louisville, Bellarmine and Spalding Universities.  Dr. Becker also instructs residents and medical students and concentrates on musculoskeletal exams and injuries, concussions, medical problems of the athlete and joint injections. 

Medical Operations Manager, Mike Campbell, MS, ATC
Mike is a certified athletic trainer with Jewish Hospital and St. Mary's Healthcare and has been with the organization since 1998.  He has a Master's degree from the University of Illinois in Therapeutic Kinesiology and a B.S. from Indiana University in Athletic Training.  He gives leadership to the medical coordination for many athletic events that JHSMH provides on-site medical coverage at.  This includes the 2006 Transplant Games, The Dew Action Sports Tour Louisville location, the Meijer KDF Marathon/Minimarathon, the 2003-2006 NAIA Cross-Country National Championships, the 2004-2005 NAIA Track & Field National Championships and many other local competitions. He has worked closely with Dr. Black and Dr. Becker, Co-Medical directors, to put together a comprehensive medical coverage plan for the 2007 Senior Games.
